NSDL launched SPEED-e (pronounced as speedy) in September, 2001.It enables demat account holders (including Clearing Members) to submit instructions directly on the Internet through SPEED-e website https://eservices.nsdl.com, without the need to use paper. SPEED-e is available to those demat account holders whose Participants have subscribed to it. List of these DPs is available at https://www.nsdl.co.in/speed-e.php.
A demat account holder has option of accessing SPEED-e either as a Password User or as e-Token User. A Clearing Member must be an e-Token User. Password Users can debit their demat accounts only in favour of specified Pre-Notified Clearing Member accounts (upto six), while e-Token User can submit instructions in favour of any account.
