National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL), the first and the largest depository in India which ranks amongst the top 10 depositories in the world in terms of assets in custody is a member of the Asia-Pacific Central Securities Depository Group (ACG). Every year, the General Meeting of ACG is hosted by one of the member organisations. During the 13th Asia-Pacific Central Securities Depository Group (ACG) General Meeting held at Hanoi, Vietnam, NSDL was selected as the host for the next ACG General Meeting. This year, NSDL hosted the 14th General Meeting of ACG in Mumbai, India during December 1-3, 2010. Hon'ble Chairman of SEBI, Shri C.B. Bhave inaugurated the General Meeting in the presence of Dr. R. H. Patil, Chairman, NSDL, Shri Gagan Rai, Managing Director and CEO, NSDL and other dignitaries. The 14th General Meeting was attended by more than 100 delegates from 24 ACG members organisations across the Asia-Pacific region.

NSDL conducts training and certification programmes for Participants to increase the availability of trained personnel for depository operations. In November 2010, such programmes were conducted in Aurangabad, Changanacherry (Kerala), Coimbatore, Guwahati, Kochi, Kozhikode (Calicut - Kerala), Mumbai, Panaji (Goa), Pune, Rajpalayam (Tamil Nadu), Ranchi, Sangli, Siliguri, Trichy and Vadodara. In all, 668 persons attended the training programmes conducted at these locations.

Basis Point Securities Private Limited (DP ID IN303487) had earlier decided to discontinue its depository operations. It has now informed NSDL that it will be continuing its depository operations. This has been informed to Participants vide Circular No. NSDL/PI/2010/2584 dated November 18, 2010.

Participants are hereby informed that as Integrated Stock Broking Services Private Limited (DP ID IN302041), a Participant of NSDL, does not meet the eligibility criteria to be a Participant of NSDL, it has been advised to close down its depository operations.

This has been informed to Participants vide Circular No. NSDL/PI/2010/2655 dated November 25, 2010.

Three more Participants have subscribed to the SPEED-e facility

  • Acumen Capital Markets (India) Limited (IN300896)
  • Canon Capital and Finance Ltd. (IN303850)
  • BMA Wealth Creators Limited (IN303794)

Clients of the above mentioned Participants can now avail of the facility of submitting various instructions through SPEED-e facility.

This takes the total number of Participants who have subscribed to SPEED-e to 103.
