National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL), India's first and the largest depository, holding more than 80% of the securities held in dematerialised mode in India, will be conducting another round of series of Investor Depository Meets (IDMs) in Mumbai. These seminars aim at spreading awareness about the depository processes and about the safety and benefits of depository system. These seminars will provide an opportunity to the investors to interact directly with NSDL as well as its Depository Participants (DPs). Senior officials from NSDL will be available at these seminars to resolve the queries of investors. Investors queries on demat, suggestions and feedback will be solicited.

NSDL services more than 9.5 million investors through its DPs from over 7,800 locations across 860 cities/towns across India. NSDL holds securities valued at more than US$ 880 billion (Rs. 40,50,000 crore) in dematerialised form. NSDL, which commenced operations in November 1996, is promoted by institutions of national stature viz.; IDBI, UTI and NSE. NSDL has been undertaking such programs to educate the investors about the Depository system through multiple channels of communication with investors during the last 12 years. One such important communication channel is Investor Depository Meets. NSDL has conducted more than 900 IDMs across India and more than 1,10,000 investors have attended these seminars.
