DSE joins NSDL
The Delhi Stock Exchange Association Ltd. (DSE) and ABN AMRO Bank N.V. have become operational as Depository Participants, bringing the total number of Depository Participants to 64. DSE is the fourth stock exchange to facilitate clearing and settlement of trades for securities in the dematerialised form. Depository Participant services are now available from 417 service centres in 126 towns and cities across the country.
As on September 18, 1998 more than 74,000 depository accounts had been opened by investors across the country and abroad.
UTI Bank Ltd. has announced a public issue for equity shares which gives an option to receive allotment in electronic form. This will be the first public issue to utilise the software released by NSDL for the processing of public offerings.
Onward Technologies Ltd. has made a one - time payment to NSDL that will enable NSDL not to charge custody fees to the DPs for its shares with effect from October 1, 1998. This brings the total number of companies who have opted for this scheme to 36.
ITI Ltd., The Andhra Valley Power Supply Company Ltd., The Tata Hydro-Electric Power Supply Company Ltd., The Tata Power Company Ltd., Raasi Cement Ltd., Indian Aluminium Company Ltd. and Ashok Leyland Finance Ltd. have signed agreements with NSDL to make their securities available for dematerialisation. This brings the total number of issuers that have entered into agreements with NSDL to get their securities dematerialised to 246.
Amongst these, dematerialisation facilities are available for shares of 234 corporates. The following scrips have been made available for dematerialisation.
