Inauguration of NDML {KYC (Know Your Client) Registration Agency (KRA)} by Hon'ble SEBI Chairman Shri U. K. Sinha.

NSDL participates in Mumbai Marathon held on January 15, 2012.

NSDL has made arrangement with NISM to facilitate staff of Participant's to get certified for NISM-Series VI Depository Operations Certification Examination (DOCE) as per SEBI requirements. A training programme is conducted by NSDL for Participant's staff followed by NISM-Series VI-DOCE online test conducted by NISM. In December 2011, first such programme was conducted at NISM, Vashi, Navi Mumbai attended by 69 persons nominated by ten Participants.

In addition, in December 2011, NSDL conducted five NCDO oriented training programmes at Mumbai which were attended by 168 persons.

SEBI vide Circular No. MIRSD/Cir- 26 /2011 dated December 23, 2011 has notified guidelines in pursuance of the SEBI KYC Registration Agency (KRA) Regulations, 2011 and for In-Person Verification (IPV).

  • The KRA system shall be applicable for all new client accounts opened from January 1, 2012
  • Participants may upload the KYC data on the KRA system and send the relevant KYC documents to KRA, by February 15, 2012 for those clients who have opened their accounts between January 1 and January 31, 2012. However, for those client who have opened accounts from February 1, 2012, Participants shall continue to follow the requirement of sending the same within 10 working days from the date of execution of documents by the client and maintain the proof of dispatch. SEBI has also advised that the existing Clients can continue to trade/ invest/ deal with their intermediaries as per the current practice.

SEBI has vide its Circular dated December 15, 2011 issued guidelines/principles for outsourcing by SEBI registered intermediaries based on the principles advocated by IOSCO and consultation process. SEBI has advised all intermediaries to conduct a self assessment of their existing outsourcing arrangements and bring them in line with the requirements of the guidelines/principles within six months from the date of issuance of the circular (i.e. by June 14, 2012).
